Monday: Plön-Calais-Dover-Eastbourn
After about 15 hours on the road and 2 hours on the ferry, a tired and excited group has finally reached Eastbourne! The highlights today were yummy snacks, a birthday celebration onboard, and several excellent outfits.
Tuesday: Eastbourne and Beachy Head
Today, we explored Eastbourne. We had the opportunity to do a Rallye through Eastbourne or to explore the city by ourselves. After a picnic by the beach, we went to Beachy Head and walked along the famous cliffs. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the sea and had a great time together.
Wednesday: Dover Castle and Canterbury
Today we were in Dover, where six girls planned a ralley for us. We explored the Dover castle, and learned many things about its history. The castle is 900 years old, has a museum and offered us an amazing view from the top of the tower!
After Dover we drove 30 minutes to Canterbury, a beautiful city with many flowers and with the big amazing cathedral. A few people wanted to go in, but we had technical difficulties.
We had 3 hours free time to explore the city and go shopping! Except for the weather (sometimes it rained) the day was really cool and we saw many things! Now we are driving back to our host families and are looking forward to tomorrow! 😉
Thursday: Brighton
This morning we went to Brighton by bus. There we had four hours to explore. With the help of an app, we were able to do a kind of independent city tour and discover different places and sights in Brighton. In addition, a group looked at the Royal Pavilion. We all had some free time and shopping afterwards.
After the four hours we all met again and were able to explore the Brighton Pier for another hour. With really nice, sunny weather we could enjoy the time there. Then we took the bus back to our host families. It was a really nice day and we saw a lot of new things! ☀️
